Broadway Babies Summer Camp
(Ages 4 to 7)
America’s future idols start their training here! The perfect way to allow your 4 to 7 year old to explore their creative abilities.
Does your child like to sing and dance or play dress up?
Are they so irrepressible that you think
you could have your own little star brewing?
If you answered yes to any of the previous questions, then the Broadway Babies Camp is for you. As taught by Renata Marino, the Broadway Babies Camp is a chance for our youngest students to receive their first training in theatre. Students play theatre games, learn the basics of singing, participate in beginner tap and jazz classes and take part in a live performance at the end of camp. Students learn how a show is put together and how to be part of an ensemble. This is the perfect starting point for anyone interested in being on stage. Students are encouraged to stretch their imaginations, increase their confidence and create characters. Many of our finest students have started here. Past shows include Annie, Beauty and the Beast, Music Man and The Wizard of Oz. This summer we’ll do another great show be a part of it!

The Camp Day
Camp runs 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Beginning at 9:00 every day, students begin their core classes: Acting, Voice, Jazz, Tap and Ballet. The classes are broken into ability levels lasting 45 minutes each. Each class is designed to give kids a lot of information in a short amount of time. Acting classes work on monologues and scenes as well as technique, Dance classes are meant to introduce and strengthen technique and stretch ability. Voice classes are designed to expand repertoire and strengthen technique and production. Core classes give students a solid base from which to explore and expand their abilities.
Production
Each camp begins show rehearsal at 1:30 every day. These productions are cast from the auditions that are held on the first day of camp. At the end of camp, every show is given a full productioncomplete with lights and soundand is then performed in front of a live audience. The production portion of the camp gives students the chance to use what they are learning in their core classes and understand a professional rehearsal and production process.
Core Classes
Acting 1, 2 and Advanced
In the lower levels, students learn the basics of theatre terminology as well as understanding the basic precepts of acting. All instruction is based in the Meisner method including listening, communicating and truthful character study. All student levels also explore creative play through Viola Spolin theatre games and work on monologues and scenes. In the upper level, students get to work on a full-length play that is performed at the end of camp. Students will also work on a Shakespeare monologue and scene.
Jazz 1, 2 and Advanced
Beginners learn terminology, counting and across the floor and center combinations. Technique is highly stressed. In Jazz 2, students review the basics, and are introduced to different styles of choreography and choreographers. In the advanced level, the students learn to work at a faster pace as well as intensifying the level of warm-ups and across the floor combinations. Students test into the proper level on the first day of camp.
Tap 1 and 2
Students learn steps, rhythms, counting and basic combinations. All basic steps and terminology are covered and students learn to put together across the floor combinations and routines from great tap musicals.

Why Stage Right?
Real Professionals...
The hallmark of Stage Right’s School for the Performing Arts is our staff. Our classes are taught by real working actors, not college students or people with a passing interest in theatre. These are actors you’ll see on professional stages all around the area and beyond. There is no replacement for the mentoring and expert instruction that a staff of real professional actors can provide a student interested in theatre. Real dancers, real actors, real singers, and real help that is sure to provide…
Real Results.
