ABOUT THIS PROGRAM

This unique library-based program provides musical dramatizations of best-loved children’s books and brings them to life with professional theatre artists, colorful costumes, props and incredible story telling techniques. The result is an exciting, professionally produced performance that sparks interest in books, stimulates imagination and encourages reading.

Currently the program has expanded and now serves libraries in Westmoreland, Fayette, and Allegheny Counties. Performances utilize the talent of Stage Right! students and are featured as part of the summer reading program with Hempfield and Greensburg Salem School Districts.

Performance Run: May 25 - June 18

"From the popular Emmy-award winning children's television program MISTER ROGERS' NEIGHBORHOOD, comes this delightful collection of songs and connecting dialog where children can find new ways to enjoy the music and messages that brought international acclaim for Fred Rogers."

Performance Run: June 19 - June 25

"Be your best! Today we celebrate our best selves, our best work, our best world! Join us as we dedicate ourselves to always try to take the high road, and treat our friends, family and even strangers with courtesy and respect. To be a real champion means to share the gold at the end of our rainbow so that everyone gets a chance to be their best!"

Performance Run: June 26 - July 9

"Grab your hat! It's time to party! Hats of all shapes and sizes take over the stage when a group of milliners help Hatless Hank find the perfect hat. A surprise awaits the audience when Ima Milliner appears in her own remarkable, stupendous, contagious hat of all hats! Discover that it's not the hat that makes a person special, but what's underneath!"

Performance Run: July 10 - July 16

"Our favorite rascally pirates are back at work, seeking adventure and treasure on the high seas! But a mighty storm rolls in and the pirates find themselves shipwrecked on a deserted island – or is it? Will the King of the High “C's” have a plan to save the day? Through the course of their musical adventures, they discover that real treasure is something they have plenty of ... friendship and family."

"Welcome to Camp Runamok and the wackiest summer camp experience you could ever wish for! Everything you love and fear about the summer camp experience, from the morning routine to corny camp skits and the ultimate talent show. Put away your technology and allow this nostalgic romp to take you on a journey of finding a place to belong, through the mighty highs and comic lows of Summer Camp!"

Performance Run: July 24 - end of summer

"The swamp is all a-buzz with party preparations galore! Naturally, the turtles are running late, and Bully the Frog is being a bully. The frogs have learned a new dance they want to share and the dragonfly larvae need encouragement to spread their wings and fly. Lessons of friendship, tolerance, courage to face the future, and more, abound!"
